meet the TEAM.
Founders, madmen, friends.
Stuart Lunn
Founder of The Unfounded
Stuart Lunn is the founder of The Unfounded, a platform built for people who are tired of business advice that sounds good on Instagram but collapses under real pressure.
He is a founder, operator, and writer who has spent years building businesses while navigating burnout, neurodivergence, chronic overthinking, and the quiet mental toll that comes with responsibility. Stuart did not arrive here through overnight success. He arrived through attrition. Through mistakes. Through rebuilding things that broke, including himself.
The Unfounded exists because Stuart got fed up with the gap between what founders are told and what they actually experience. The anxiety. The isolation. The exhaustion. The constant feeling that everyone else got the rulebook except you.
His work focuses on business mindset, founder mental health, systems over motivation, and the uncomfortable truth that building something meaningful requires more than hustle. It requires self awareness, boundaries, physical resilience, and a willingness to outgrow people, rooms, and versions of yourself.
Stuart writes in plain language because founders do not need more theory. They need clarity. His approach blends lived experience, behavioural science, and hard lessons learned the long way round. No posturing. No fake certainty. Just progress earned honestly.
Stuart writes extensively on entrepreneurship, business mindset, founder mental health, and sustainable growth for early-stage and bootstrapped businesses.
If you are building something from scratch and wondering why it feels heavier than advertised, you are exactly where this work is meant to meet you.
Matt McIvor
Technical Backbone. Sanity Check. Professional Adult Supervision.
Every slightly unhinged founder needs at least one person who knows how to say “that’s a terrible idea” calmly and with evidence. For The Unfounded, that person is Matt McIvor.
Matt is a close personal friend, trusted advisor, and the technical maestro behind the scenes. He brings structure, logic, and an alarming ability to finish sentences that start with “what if we just…” before they become disasters.
Where Stuart brings vision, intensity, and a brain that runs at unacceptable speeds, Matt brings systems, grounding, and the quiet discipline required to make ideas actually work. His unofficial role is keeping Stuart’s neurodivergence “roughly” pointed in the right direction, ideally without anyone getting hurt.
Matt acts as a constant sanity check. He pressure tests ideas. He challenges assumptions. He translates chaos into something usable. And when needed, he gently reminds Stuart to eat, sleep, and stop rebuilding the entire platform at 2am.
The Unfounded works because it is not a solo act. It is the product of creative force balanced by technical restraint. Vision paired with execution. Passion held in check by competence.
Every founder needs a Matt. If you do not have one yet, consider this your warning.
